The Joint Ad Hoc Committee formed as a result of the vote of the Homeowners at the November 5, 2016 Special Meeting. It was agreed by the majority of owners present in person or by proxy that an ad hoc committee be established “to develop a process to encourage trust and transparency” in the HOA. A motion was subsequently passed at the next LS HOA Board of Directors meeting held on November 12, 2015, to officially sanction this ad hoc committee with two leaders, working as co-chairs — one appointed by a member of the Board of Directors and the other appointed by a member or supporter of the Restore Lacamas Shores Team. The goal of the AHC was to report to the Homeowners and make forward-looking recommendations to the Board regarding policies and protocol creation/changes that could help to avoid future disputes. Note that while outside the scope of the committee, it was also hoped that those recommendations might enable the resolution of any currently outstanding grievances.
The final 46-page report was presented to the Board May 19, 2016 following the May 18th Board Meeting, along with a 2-page Guide. The JAHC plans a Q&A for members in the near future. Note that the Committee's recommendations are in red. You may download the report and attachment or read them below:
